Former international relations and cooperation minister Naledi Pandor has been named the new chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, replacing Professor Njabulo Ndebele. Pandor, who retired from active politics at the end of the sixth term, will become only the third chairperson since the foundation was established in 1999. She will officially take over on 1 October following Ndebele’s retirement after over a decade in the role.

Pandor expressed her honor and excitement in taking on the new position, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing Madiba’s legacy in today’s challenging world. She looks forward to contributing to the foundation’s vital social justice work.
