New Democracy’s MP Marios Salmas was expelled from the ruling party and parliamentary group after criticizing the government’s tenders for catering services. Prime Minister Mitsotakis requested his expulsion, citing unacceptable behavior for critiquing government decisions.

In response, Salmas defended his actions, claiming his right to hold differing opinions. This is not the first conflict between Salmas and the party leadership, as previously, he accused Mitsotakis of favoring the elite over the public. Mitsotakis responded firmly, emphasizing his intolerance for such accusations.
