Iran’s Revolutionary Guards prohibit communication devices following Hezbollah pager incident

Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has issued a directive banning the use of all communication devices following deadly explosions of pagers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon. The IRGC is conducting a thorough inspection of all devices, including homemade and imported ones, amid concerns of Israeli infiltration.

The IRGC is using end-to-end encryption for internal communication, with concerns about sabotage at nuclear and missile facilities. Iran’s military has ramped up security measures, with investigations into personnel underway.

Tehran has produced its military-grade radio transmissions to minimize reliance on foreign imports.
