Iran is set to make significant strides in its space program, with plans to launch between five to seven domestically-developed satellites before March 2025. The head of the Iranian Space Agency, Hassan Salariyeh, revealed that the agency aims to have multiple satellite launches this year, collaborating with various organizations including the IRGC Aerospace Force and the Ministry of Defense.
Salariyeh mentioned that foreign launches are also on the agenda, with the upcoming launch of Tolo-3 and Zafar-2 satellites using foreign space launch vehicles. Additionally, the ISA plans sub-orbital launches in cooperation with the IRGC Aerospace Force, along with the deployment of the Kowsar satellite by the private sector.
Iran has made notable achievements in its space program despite Western sanctions, ranking among the top 10 nations capable of developing and launching satellites. Recent successes include the launch of the Chamran 1 and Mahda research satellites, showcasing Iran’s advancements in space technology. With ongoing developments and collaborations, Iran continues to make significant contributions to the field of space exploration.
