Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed that Israel’s actions aim to escalate tensions in the region and spread insecurity, ultimately benefiting no country. He emphasized Iran’s defense of Palestine and criticized international media for overlooking Israel’s aggression in Gaza. Additionally, Pezeshkian clarified that Iran has never initiated attacks but has been the target of invasions.
Regarding Israel’s assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, Pezeshkian stated that such actions will not go unanswered. Despite vowing to avenge Haniyeh, Iran seeks constructive interactions with other nations based on mutual respect and peace. The president also addressed allegations of Iran supplying weapons to Russia for the Ukraine conflict, denying any involvement and emphasizing Iran’s commitment to respecting national sovereignty.
As he attends the UN General Assembly, Pezeshkian is determined to convey Iran’s message of peace and friendship to counter Western media’s negative portrayal. He highlighted the need for global coexistence built on justice and harmony, criticizing the Israeli regime for obstructing peace in the region.
