The US media has chosen to overlook the heroic sacrifices made by individuals trying to prevent a genocide, putting Israel’s interests first.
Three US citizens have self-immolated in protest against their government’s support for Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. Despite their clear messages, the American media attempted to ignore or misinterpret the acts. Matt Nelson, one of the protesters, delivered a powerful message before setting himself on fire near the Israeli consulate in Boston.
Nelson demanded an end to the funding and support given to Israel for its actions in Gaza and called for international intervention. The media twisted the narrative, failing to acknowledge the political nature of the act.
Similar incidents, including the self-immolation of an active-duty airman, Aaron Bushnell, have been downplayed or ignored by Western corporate media. Despite efforts to discredit their actions, the messages of these individuals continue to resonate, thanks to social media.
