A senior US diplomat, Rafik Mansour, highlighted the crucial role of education in shaping the future of Egypt during his visit to Cairo on Saturday. He emphasized that while Egypt’s history is encapsulated in its ancient artifacts, its future lies in its schools.
Working in partnership with the Egyptian government, the United States is actively involved in constructing over 2,000 primary schools and training 150,000 teachers, benefiting more than five million Egyptian children.
These educational initiatives not only equip children with the necessary skills for the 21st century but also serve as a bridge to strengthen ties between Egypt and the US for the benefit of future generations.
Moreover, Mansour highlighted the collaboration between the two countries in preserving Egypt’s rich cultural heritage, including the return of over 5,000 smuggled artifacts since the signing of a bilateral agreement in 2016.
With a long-standing commitment to safeguarding Egypt’s treasures, the US government has invested $150 million in preserving the country’s cultural heritage, reinforcing its role as a steadfast ally.
