Tashkent Hosts Iran-Uzbekistan Business Forum – Iran News Today

Iranian and Uzbek business leaders came together at the Iran-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Tashkent on September 19. The forum, organized by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy in Tehran, aimed to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

The event saw the participation of over 200 business representatives from both nations, including key figures like Davron Vahabov and Samad Hassanzadeh. Discussions focused on investment opportunities, trade relations, and potential projects in various sectors.

The forum highlighted the growing trade between Iran and Uzbekistan, reaching $503.4 million in 2023 and $314.7 million by August 2024. There are currently 268 Iranian-invested enterprises in Uzbekistan, showing the deepening economic collaboration.

Hassanzadeh stressed the need to remove obstacles to trade, enhance transportation links, and increase cooperation in industrial sectors. Both sides agreed to expand economic ties for mutual growth and prosperity.

These strategic partnerships were further solidified by meetings between Uzbek and Iranian officials, setting the stage for increased business collaborations in textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and more.
