Israeli Warplanes Strike Southern Lebanon, Causing Fires in Towns

Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Saturday, targeting Hezbollah positions and causing fires in several towns. According to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency, Israeli warplanes conducted over 50 airstrikes in border towns, including Zawtar, Wadi Rumein, and Mlikh. Social media images showed the aftermath of the strikes, which also hit forested areas.

The airstrikes came after a deadly attack in Beirut’s southern suburb, where at least 38 people were killed, including senior Hezbollah members. Tensions have escalated between Israel and Hezbollah following cross-border attacks and explosions in Lebanon. The Lebanese government and Hezbollah have accused Israel of involvement in the explosions.

The recent airstrikes are part of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, exacerbated by Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in cross-border warfare.
