IDF Chief Herzi Halevi discusses Israel’s north border

With tensions escalating between Israel and Hezbollah, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi issued a warning to the militant group, threatening more assassinations and increased attacks on their capabilities. Despite recent attempts by Hezbollah to harm Israelis with rockets and drones, Halevi emphasized that the price they will pay for their aggression will only grow.

While avoiding an explicit mention of a ground invasion, he highlighted the IDF’s strategic initiative against Hezbollah, noting that there are still unused offensive and defensive capabilities. The recent killing of Radwan special forces chief Ibrahim Aqil, who may have been planning an invasion of Israel’s North, showcased the IDF’s ability to maintain the initiative.

As the conflict unfolds, experts believe that without some form of invasion, Hezbollah is unlikely to cease its aggression. Halevi made it clear that if Hezbollah does not agree to a security deal for Israel’s northern residents, they will continue to be targeted relentlessly until the organization understands the consequences of their actions.
