Israel and Lebanon are engaged in heavy fighting, with Israeli warplanes launching intense airstrikes in Lebanon’s south, while Hezbollah claims rocket attacks on Israeli military targets in the north. The Israeli military struck around 290 targets, including Hezbollah rocket launcher barrels, as part of efforts to target the Iran-backed movement.
As the conflict escalates, Israel has closed schools and restricted gatherings in northern areas and the Golan Heights. Both sides have been exchanging rocket attacks, with Israel intercepting most of the incoming missiles. The recent airstrikes come after an Israeli attack targeting Hezbollah commanders in Lebanon, resulting in numerous casualties.
Amid the growing violence, U.S. national security adviser Jake Sullivan expressed concern over the situation while acknowledging Israel’s actions against Hezbollah. The conflict has escalated tensions in the region and raised fears of further retaliation.
The ongoing conflict has led to mass displacement on both sides of the Israel-Lebanon border, with tens of thousands fleeing their homes. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in warfare.
