Stay Ahead of the Flu Season: Hong Kong Authorities Warn of Rising Cases
As temperatures drop in Hong Kong, health authorities are warning of a potential rise in flu cases. To combat this, the government is intensifying efforts to encourage more toddlers to get vaccinated.
The Hospital Authority is set to kick off its seasonal influenza vaccination programmes, with special projects targeting schools and care homes. Additionally, 16 district health centres will offer flu jabs to the public.
Starting Wednesday at 9am, families can schedule vaccinations for children aged six months to under two years at maternal and child health centres. Dr. Raymond Lai Wai-man, the authority’s chief infection control officer, emphasized the increased risk of flu transmission in the upcoming winter season.
