Delta Commissioner for Works, Mr Reuben Izeze, in collaboration with NGO FOOSTODEY, distributed over N35 million to women, students, and a vigilante group in Ughievwen Kingdom. The initiative aimed to alleviate financial burdens on the beneficiaries. 200 students received N25,000 each, while 101 small traders obtained N50,000 each. The vigilante group received five motorcycles and a Sienna bus for enhanced security patrols.
Ughievwen Kingdom lies in Ughelli South Local Government of Delta State, with FOOSTODEY engaging in humanitarian services. Izeze emphasized the need for community empowerment amidst the country’s rising living costs. The support extended to students heading back to school due to increased fees and prices.
In alignment with Governor Oborevwori’s ‘MORE Agenda,’ the initiative received praise from State officials and FOOSTODEY representatives. In recognition of Izeze’s contributions, the National Association of Delta State Students awarded him a commendation certificate for his commitment to educational development.
The event highlighted the commitment to community welfare and the impact of collaborative efforts in driving local development.
