Bor students share hopeful messages on Peace Day.

Students in Bor County, Jonglei State, came together to celebrate International Peace Day with messages of hope and unity. Organized by the Jonglei State Ministry of Peace Building and UNMISS, the event featured young reporters showcasing their talents in dramas, poems, and speeches.

Marlin Apiu, a student from Saint Andrew High School, emphasized the importance of peace in ensuring human rights and opportunities for all, particularly girls. Apiu called on the government to prioritize peace for the future of the nation.

Jonglei Governor Biel Turuk commended the young reporters for their dedication to peacebuilding, acknowledging the pivotal role of the youth in shaping the country’s future. UNMISS representative Geetha Pious also emphasized the significance of young people in fostering a culture of peace.

As the world observed International Peace Day on September 21, the event highlighted the importance of promoting tolerance, dialogue, and civic engagement for a peaceful future.
