Bauchi revives six boarding schools: The Guardian Nigeria News

Dr Jemila Dahiru, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, announced the government’s plan to revive six boarding schools that were de-boarded due to low enrollment. This decision was made to ensure a conducive learning environment for students and is part of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project supported by the World Bank.

During a visit to the schools, Dahiru emphasized the importance of rehabilitation and renovation to address past issues of low enrollment. Governor Bala Mohammed’s approval paved the way for structural improvements in these schools, aimed at increasing student enrollment and providing valuable education opportunities.

The communities are eager to support this initiative, with local leaders promising to promote enrollment among residents. The goal is to utilize existing facilities and enhance the schools’ infrastructure to accommodate more students. Overall, the plan aims to revitalize education in Bauchi State and address previous challenges faced by these schools.
