Araqchi Calls for Foreign Forces to Exit Syria – Politics Update

During a meeting at the UN General Assembly in New York, Iranian diplomat Araqchi and UN Special Envoy for Syria Pedersen discussed the latest updates in Syria and the Middle East. Pedersen shared with Araqchi the UN’s efforts to address issues in Syria, to which Araqchi expressed Iran’s support for peace initiatives. Araqchi emphasized the need for foreign forces to withdraw from Syria to allow for the country’s reconstruction to begin promptly.

In response to recent Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, Araqchi condemned the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime, stating that such actions will not go unanswered. The Israeli regime’s attacks in Lebanon resulted in the deaths of 37 people and injuries to nearly 3,000 individuals. Following this, an air strike in Beirut’s southern suburbs by Israel led to the death of 45 people, including women and children, as well as injuring around 60 others.
