A support group called National Progressives Hub within the ruling All Progressives Congress APC has submitted a petition to President Bola Tinubu, expressing their dismay over the actions of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC. The group criticized the EFCC’s recent invasion of the Kogi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja and called for restraint.
The group’s National Coordinator, Hon. Bukkie Okangbe, emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and respecting the rights of every citizen, including former Governor Yahaya Bello. The EFCC’s actions were deemed unnecessary, unprofessional, and unethical, especially since Bello had willingly presented himself for interrogation earlier.
In light of these events, the support group urged President Tinubu to intervene and ensure that the EFCC operates within the confines of the law. They also reiterated their unwavering support for Tinubu’s administration and called on the EFCC to align with the government’s goals.
This petition highlights the need for accountability and professionalism within government agencies, emphasizing the importance of upholding the rule of law.
