North Korea is suspected of floating a large garbage balloon towards South Korea again on the 22nd, as announced by the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The Joint Chiefs notified the Ministry of National Defense’s press corps in the evening through a text message about the floating garbage balloon, stating, “Considering the current wind direction, there is a possibility that the large garbage balloon (estimated) will move towards Gyeonggi Province and the metropolitan area.” They also added, “We ask the public to be cautious of falling objects and if you find a fallen balloon, do not touch it and report it to the nearest military or police.”
This release of garbage balloons by North Korea comes just four days after the incident on the 18th of this month.
As tensions rise with the recurring incidents of these garbage balloons, it is crucial for the public to remain vigilant and report any discoveries to the authorities. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing situation.
