Walz hints at Robinson controversy at PA rally

Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) referenced North Carolina Republican gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson at a rally, condemning Robinson’s alleged offensive comments on a pornography site’s message board. Walz highlighted the city of Bethlehem’s steel roots in WWII tank production, contrasting it with Robinson’s self-identification as a “black Nazi.”

A recent CNN report accused Robinson of using racist, antisemitic, and homophobic slurs on a forum before his time as lieutenant governor. Robinson denied the allegations, attributing them to his Democratic opponent, Josh Stein.

Despite calls for accountability from Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), Robinson remains in the race but faces declining support. Polls now show Stein leading by 10 points, shifting the race to likely Democratic. However, Robinson’s exclusion from a recent Trump rally hints at further challenges in his campaign.

As the gubernatorial race unfolds, Robinson’s response to the allegations and his ability to regain lost support will be crucial. Whether these accusations will shape the race’s outcome remains uncertain.
