Turkey urges West to take ‘deterrent steps’ against Israeli action

Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan condemned Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, accusing the Israeli government of trying to escalate the war in the region. Erdogan called on Western countries to take action against Israel and increase pressure on the nation to prevent a catastrophic disaster.

During a press conference in Istanbul, Erdogan emphasized the need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid. He criticized Israel’s military offensive, which resulted in the deaths of over 41,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza health ministry.

Furthermore, Turkey denounced Israel’s actions in Gaza and suspended all trade with the nation. Erdogan also submitted a request to join South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice, accusing Israel of genocide, a claim that Israel has vehemently denied.

As the situation escalates, Erdogan is set to address Israel’s war in Gaza at the UN General Assembly, urging global intervention to halt Israel’s aggression and ensure peace in the region.
