During the Quad leaders summit, US President Joe Biden, Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese applauded India’s leadership in the Indian Ocean Region under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stewardship. Biden specifically mentioned that the US has a lot to learn from India’s experience and leadership in the Indian Ocean.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated that the Quad alliance is not directed against any specific country but rather focuses on mutual cooperation and shared values. The leaders discussed concrete actions in areas like clean energy, critical technologies, and counter-terrorism. Japanese PM Kishida emphasized the commitment of Quad to a free and open Indo-Pacific, advocating for close coordination with regional nations.
