Independence Day: Celebrating 33 Years of Freedom in Armenia
YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 21, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Armenia on the 33rd anniversary of the country’s independence.
On September 21, 1991, Armenia held an Independence referendum where 95% of citizens voted for the country to become an independent, democratic state. Since then, Armenia has faced numerous challenges including wars, economic crises, and emigration. As a nation, we continue to reaffirm our commitment to independence and statehood every day through our actions and decisions.
The government’s primary aim is to uphold the values of democracy and independence, ensuring the country’s growth and stability. Despite past mistakes, the spirit of the Velvet Revolution in 2018 has propelled Armenia towards a brighter future based on democracy, statehood, and international law.
PM Pashinyan emphasized that every day is a referendum on Independence, where every individual’s actions and choices contribute to the nation’s progress. He expressed gratitude to those who uphold the values of the Republic of Armenia and called for unity in building a prosperous and free nation for future generations.
As we celebrate Independence Day, let us honor the sacrifices of the past and work towards a brighter future for the Republic of Armenia. Congratulations to all on this historic occasion!
