North Korean trash balloon lands at govt HQ – RT News

In response to balloons carrying propaganda from South Korea, Pyongyang has been launching garbage-laden inflatables. Recently, a trash-carrying balloon landed in the Seoul government complex’s parking lot, triggering a substantial emergency response as firefighters and police cordoned off the area. The balloon, which contained assorted household garbage, was safely removed and examined for hazardous materials by the military.

These balloons are believed to be part of the latest batch of trash balloons sent by Pyongyang, which mostly contained paper and plastic waste. North Korea has been using this tactic to retaliate against propaganda leaflets coming from the South. This incident marks the second time the Seoul government complex has been targeted by these balloons, with a similar incident occurring in May and another in June.

Despite these provocative actions, South Korean authorities continue to handle the situation with diligence. The ongoing exchange of inflatables between the two countries is a reminder of the tensions that persist on the Korean peninsula.
