French President Emmanuel Macron Announces New Government to End Political Uncertainty
French President Emmanuel Macron has appointed a new 38-member government aimed at resolving the 11 weeks of political uncertainty following a hung parliament in an inconclusive election. The new government, led by Conservative Prime Minister Michel Barnier, faces the crucial task of presenting a 2025 budget plan to address France’s financial challenges.
The cabinet includes ministers from Macron’s centrist alliance and the conservative Republicans party, with 33-year-old Antoine Armand taking on the role of finance minister. Jean-Noel Barrot assumes the position of foreign minister, bringing extensive experience in international affairs.
Despite facing opposition from left-wing parties and far-right groups, Barnier remains committed to effective governance.
