Drone Attack Sparks Evacuations in Russia’s Krasnodar Region

A recent drone attack in the Tikhoretsky district of Russia’s Krasnodar region has led to evacuations and sparked widespread concern. Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that the attack caused a large fire that spread to explosive objects, prompting the evacuation of at least 1,200 people from the area.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that they had shot down 101 Ukrainian drones, with 53 being shot down in the Bryansk region and 18 intercepted in the Krasnodar region. The attack comes as part of ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with Ukraine targeting Russian soil to disrupt supplies to Moscow’s troops.

This incident follows a similar drone strike in the town of Toropets in the western Tver region, which resulted in the partial evacuation of the area after an ammunition depot was hit and a fire broke out. As a precaution, Russia temporarily closed the M-9 highway in the Tver region to ensure traffic safety.

Despite the severity of the attack, no casualties have been reported, and authorities are working to ensure the safety and security of the affected areas.
