In the rubble of a 10-story building in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanese rescue workers were still searching for bodies on the morning of Saturday, September 21. The Israeli strike targeted Hezbollah fighters, resulting in 31 dead and 68 injured, leading to panic among residents.

Israel’s continuous attacks on Hezbollah aim to halt the Shiite party’s aggression against its territory. The recent loss of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force commander, Ibrahim Akil, marks a significant setback for the group, as he played a crucial role in various operations against Israel.

‘A great jihadist leader’

Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of key members, including Akil, in the Israeli strike. Akil, known for his expertise in anti-tank operations and guerrilla warfare, had been a prominent figure in conflicts between Israel and Hezbollah since 2006.
