Amidst ongoing violence in Gaza, the recent bombing of the Zeitoun School by the Israeli regime has been condemned as a “horrific massacre” by Gaza’s Government Media Office. The attack resulted in the tragic deaths of 21 individuals, including 13 children, six women, and a three-month-old baby, with many others sustaining injuries.
Despite being a known site for displaced Palestinians under the UNRWA, the school was targeted, further adding to the sense of insecurity and fear among the residents. Additionally, an area between Khan Younis and Rafah was also struck, resulting in the loss of five health ministry employees.
These attacks follow a pattern of targeting medical facilities in Gaza, contributing to a severe shortage of supplies in hospitals. The ongoing violence has led to the death of over 41,000 Palestinians and injury of nearly 96,000 since October 2023.
As the conflict continues to escalate, it is imperative for the international community to step in and work towards a peaceful resolution to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
