Israel strikes Gaza school housing displaced Palestinians, killing 22 | Israel-Palestine conflict updates

Israel’s recent attack on a school sheltering displaced people in Gaza City has resulted in the tragic loss of at least 22 Palestinian lives, including 13 children and a three-month-old baby. According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the strike targeted the Zeitoun School, causing severe injuries to at least 30 individuals.

The Government Media Office labeled the attack as a “horrific massacre,” condemning Israel’s actions. This incident is part of a pattern of Israeli raids on school buildings housing displaced Palestinians in Gaza, with over 181 displacement and shelter centers bombed so far.

Despite sharing GPS coordinates, UN-run facilities have not been spared from the onslaught, with 190 targeted during the conflict. The international community has expressed outrage over the civilian casualties, with UNRWA condemning the attacks on its staff.

The ongoing violence has claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinians, with tens of thousands displaced from their homes. The cycle of destruction and suffering shows no signs of abating, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
