Hezbollah’s top commander, 14 fighters killed in Israeli strike on Beirut suburbs

In a tragic turn of events, Hezbollah’s top military commander Ahmed Wahbi, along with 14 fighters, were killed in an Israeli raid targeting Beirut’s southern suburb. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported 66 people injured, with nine in critical condition following the airstrike.

The Israeli army claimed responsibility for assassinating Ibrahim Aqil, another top military commander of Hezbollah, as well as senior commanders from the group’s elite Radwan Force. This marks the third attack on the southern suburb amid escalating hostilities over the past year.

Past attacks included the assassination of Hamas leader Saleh al-Arouri and Hezbollah leader Fouad Shukr. As tensions continue to rise, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared that the conflict has entered “a new phase.”

Amidst these tragic events, it is important to remember the human cost of these conflicts and strive for peace and reconciliation in the region.
