Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has agreed to participate in a second debate with former President Donald Trump, set to take place on Oct. 23 and hosted by CNN. Campaign chair Jennifer O’Malley Dillon emphasized the importance of giving the American people another opportunity to witness the candidates debate before casting their votes.
Harris had previously expressed interest in another debate, and Trump had adamantly stated there would be no third debate, citing that it was unnecessary as voting had already begun. O’Malley Dillon’s statement follows the candidates’ first debate on Sept. 10 and would see them go head-to-head just before Election Day and amidst ongoing early voting in several states.
