Ex-UK PM declares it’s over for Russia

Boris Johnson, former British Prime Minister, believes that Russia must accept defeat in Ukraine, even if it costs a trillion dollars. In an op-ed for The Spectator, Johnson argues that Ukraine should be fully supported with long-range weapons, NATO membership, and a significant financial investment to ensure victory.

He asserts that it is time for Russia to realize that its imperial days are over and Ukraine will not yield any territory. Johnson emphasizes the importance of sending a strong message to the Kremlin through these measures.

Despite a potential peace deal between Russia and Ukraine in 2022, reports suggest that Western powers, including Johnson, convinced Ukrainian President Zelensky to walk away from negotiations. Subsequently, Russia claimed control over four regions of Ukraine.

The situation in Ukraine remains dire, with a significant loss of military personnel and challenges in regaining control of lost territories. Johnson’s firm stance on supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression reflects a determination to see a swift end to conflict in the region.
