Armenian President’s Turkmenistan trip sparks co-op talks

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 21. The President of Armenia is set to visit Turkmenistan on October 11, 2024, to attend the International Forum of Heads of State and Government. This visit marks a significant milestone in enhancing bilateral relations and provides a platform to explore future cooperation opportunities, as stated by Armenian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ruben Kharazyan.

Kharazyan emphasized Armenia’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and highlighted the strong bond between Armenia and Turkmenistan. The upcoming forum serves as a prime example of the countries’ close ties and signifies a crucial step towards expanded collaboration.

Despite the growth in economic relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan in recent years, there is still untapped potential for deeper engagement. The Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, established in 2009, has been instrumental in identifying key areas for joint projects in trade, science, and culture.

Kharazyan revealed that the 10th anniversary meeting of the commission is scheduled for spring 2025 in Yerevan, further demonstrating the commitment to strengthening cooperation.

This anticipated visit is expected to inject fresh energy into bilateral relations and pave the way for enhanced cooperation between the two countries.
