Pawan Kalyan said he will begin the ritualistic penance from Sunday at Sri Dasavatara Venkateswara Swamy temple at Namburu in Guntur district

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan will undertake an 11-day penance to seek forgiveness from Lord Venkateswara for alleged adulteration of animal fats in Tirupati laddus.

He will begin the ritualistic penance at Sri Dasavatara Venkateswara Swamy temple in Guntur district, followed by a visit to Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

Kalyan appealed to the deity for strength to undo the alleged sins committed by the previous YSRCP government and questioned the TTD’s ignorance of irregularities.

The TTD, overseeing the Sri Venkateswara temple, has faced backlash after claims of using substandard ingredients in the laddus surfaced.

Allegations by AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu against the YSRCP government triggered public outrage over temple desecration.
