A tragic airstrike on a school housing displaced Palestinians in Gaza City has left at least 21 people dead, including 13 children. The Gaza Government Media Office reported that 30 people, including nine children, were also injured in the attack. The school, which housed hundreds of displaced families, was targeted by Israeli forces, bringing the total number of displaced persons centers attacked to 181 since the start of the Israeli offensive.
Eyewitnesses described the Israeli airstrike in the Zeitoun neighborhood, which resulted in casualties among those seeking refuge in the school. Despite international condemnation and a UN Security Council resolution for an immediate ceasefire, Israel continues its brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip. More than 41,300 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed since the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas.
Israel’s actions have led to accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice. The cycle of violence and tragedy shows no signs of stopping, as innocent lives continue to be lost in the conflict. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
