Sanjeev Hans, an IAS officer from the 1997 batch of the Bihar cadre, has been embroiled in corruption and bribery allegations. Despite holding esteemed positions such as Collector in various districts of Bihar and Secretary and CMD of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited, Hans is now facing scrutiny for having assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Reports suggest he demanded luxury cars as bribes and embezzled money from a woman, highlighting corruption within the administrative services.
Originally inspired by his father, a State Administrative Service officer, Hans pursued a career in the IAS. However, his journey took a darker turn as he got entangled in corruption scandals. Following an ED raid that recovered gold, cash, and silver from his premises, an FIR has been filed against him and former MLA Gulab Yadav. Hans is accused of accepting a Mercedes car as a bribe during his tenure in the Energy Department. Additionally, he faces allegations of gang rape, with the victim seeking legal action through the Supreme Court.
This scandal sheds light on the pervasive issue of corruption within the bureaucratic system, raising concerns and prompting investigations into Hans’s actions.
