A recent incident at the U.S.-Mexico border shocked authorities as an illegal immigrant bit a Border Patrol agent in the face while being apprehended near Sunland Park, New Mexico. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed the attack, with one individual arrested for assault and the injured agent taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The assailant, part of a group of illegal immigrants, managed to flee back to Mexico along with three others. CBP highlighted the rising danger faced by Border Patrol agents, with 66 assaults reported this fiscal year in the El Paso sector alone.
