Spain’s Role in Venezuelan Opposition Leader’s Departure Sparks Political Controversy

The departure of Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González to Spain has stirred up a political storm in Madrid. Questions about Spain’s involvement in his asylum request have become a focal point for the right-wing opposition, challenging Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares.

González revealed he faced coercion to acknowledge Nicolás Maduro’s re-election before leaving Caracas.
