Vice President Kashim Shetima recently led the inaugural Regulators’ Forum at the Presidential Villa, urging regulatory agencies to streamline operations to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic agenda. As the Chairman of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Shetima emphasized the need for trust, transparency, and adherence to global standards in regulatory practices.
The forum, aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s business climate, provides a collaborative platform for regulatory agencies to address operational challenges and streamline processes affecting business operations. Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Special Adviser on PEBEC and Investment, highlighted the importance of a stable and transparent business environment in attracting investments and fostering economic growth.
PEBEC, established in 2016, focuses on removing bureaucratic constraints to doing business and improving the ease of doing business perception in Nigeria. The collaboration between regulatory bodies is expected to enhance trust, align practices with international standards, and improve Nigeria’s overall business climate.
