Described as “disgusting” with “horrifying” conditions, the detention centre music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs now calls home is a far cry from the Miami and Los Angeles mansions he once lived in.
Former lawyer for President Donald Trump, Michael Cohen, revealed that Combs now wakes up to cinder block walls in the New York City’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
Combs is now among several high-profile inmates at the facility, including R Kelly, Martin Shkreli, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Fetty Wap.
Combs was denied bail by a federal judge, remaining in custody on racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.
With no trial date set, Combs’ stay at the Brooklyn prison remains uncertain, but his lawyer plans to appeal the bail denial.
Conditions at the MDC Brooklyn have been dubbed ‘Hell on Earth’ due to violence, poor living conditions, and staffing shortages.
The prison’s history includes power outages and inmate deaths, prompting investigations and lawsuits for inhumane treatment.
The Bureau of Prisons settled a lawsuit last year, compensating inmates for enduring harsh conditions during a power outage.
