Recently, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Commissioners for Diaspora Affairs from various countries, emphasizing the importance of the newly established Institute of Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs. Pashinyan highlighted the need to strengthen the Armenia-Diaspora relationship and create a system for regular communication between the Republic of Armenia and its communities overseas.
The Prime Minister stressed the significance of clarifying the roles and functions of both the Diaspora and the Republic of Armenia, stating that while the two are interconnected, they are not governing institutions for each other. Pashinyan expressed the need for joint efforts in formulating solutions to enhance the relationship between Armenia and Armenians worldwide.
High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan mentioned that commissioners play an active role in community life and have close ties with Armenia. The Prime Minister urged the commissioners to prioritize Armenia’s interests, emphasizing its importance as a key component of their identity.
This meeting marks a crucial step towards strengthening ties between Armenia and its global diaspora, showcasing a united effort to advance common goals and agendas for the benefit of all Armenians.
