N12bn support raised for victims in 80 chars

The recent Alau Dam flood disaster in Maiduguri has sparked a wave of generosity, with over N12 billion in cash and material donations pouring in to support the victims. The Borno Government announced this milestone, highlighting the contributions from various sources including corporate entities, state governments, and individuals.

Notable donors include the North East Development Commission with N3bn and foodstuff, Aliko Dangote with N2bn, Aminu Dantata with N1.5bn, and Mohammed Indimi with N1bn. Other contributors ranged from Borno LGAs, Oluremi Tinubu, Bauchi and Niger states, to prominent figures like Atiku Abubakar and House of Representatives members.

Even the Director General of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Buba Marwa, and Matrix Energy stepped up, each donating 10 trucks of fertiliser and foodstuff worth over N120m. The outpouring of support demonstrates unity and solidarity in times of crisis, with donations ranging from N1m to N50m from various individuals, organizations, and government bodies.

The collective efforts showcase the power of community and compassion in mitigating the impact of natural disasters, rallying together to rebuild and restore hope for the affected individuals and families.
