The Lahore administration has given the green light to PTI to hold a rally in the city, subject to 43 conditions. The rally will take place at Ring Road’s Kahna area tomorrow from 3-6pm. This decision came after the High Court ordered the city administration to make a final call on the rally’s permission. The NOC issued stated that the organisers are responsible for any untoward incidents. Conditions include no anti-state sloganeering and preventing proclaimed offenders from participating. The PTI has launched a mass contact campaign to gather support for the rally, which was originally planned at Minar-i-Pakistan ground. Each time permission was sought, Section 144 was imposed to ban political gatherings. Punjab Information Minister raised concerns about hate speech during the rallies. The court has directed the Lahore deputy commissioner to decide on the PTI’s application by 5pm. This ongoing saga of permission for political events continues to unfold, with conditions being set and objections being raised by various parties involved.
