Increase in Armenian citizenship applications from NK displaced individuals

In a heartwarming show of solidarity and support, a total of 4,473 forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh have applied for Armenian citizenship between October 26, 2023, and September 10, 2024. The Migration Service has reported that there have been no denials of applications during this period.

Director of the Migration Service, Armen Ghazaryan, shared that the Armenian government had granted these displaced individuals temporary protection status starting on October 26, 2023. The numbers speak for themselves, with a consistent growth in the number of applications for citizenship.

The statistics reveal a steady increase, with 433 applicants in the last two months of 2023, followed by 991 in the first quarter of 2024, 1,187 in the second quarter, and a significant 1,781 in the period from July 1 to September 10, 2024.

This heartening response highlights the resilience and determination of the displaced individuals from Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the unwavering support provided by the Armenian government. Through these acts of kindness and solidarity, a brighter future is being forged for those in need.
