A Greek-born Alaska man, Panos Anastasiou, has been indicted on federal charges for sending threatening messages to injure and kill six Supreme Court justices and their family members. The 76-year-old is accused of sending over 465 violent messages through a public court website, containing graphic threats of assassination and torture, along with racist and homophobic language.
Anastasiou, released with conditions, faces 22 counts, including making threats against a federal judge and threats in interstate commerce. Despite being a Vietnam veteran undergoing cancer treatment, Anastasiou’s messages escalated in intensity, sparking concerns for public officials’ safety.
