Despite initial reports, Germany assured no suspension on arm exports to Israel, rejecting claims of a ban. Reports from Reuters indicated a temporary hold on new licenses for war weapons to Israel amid legal disputes surrounding humanitarian law violations. Such licenses amounted to $36,150 in 2024, significantly lower than previous years.
Recent legal challenges, including a case at the International Court of Justice and a lawsuit by the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, have affected arms exports. The ripple effect across Europe also saw the UK suspending arms export licenses to Israel over concerns of violating international humanitarian law.
