The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has issued a statement revealing the dire food situation in Gaza, where Israeli military attacks have been ongoing for over 11 months. According to UNRWA, people in Gaza are only able to eat once every two days on average.
The statement emphasized that 83 percent of the necessary food aid could not be delivered to the Gaza Strip, leaving two million Palestinians displaced and in need of assistance. UNRWA and its partners have been distributing high-energy biscuits to children to combat malnutrition.
The situation in Gaza has reached a humanitarian crisis, with Israeli restrictions blocking access to basic necessities like food, water, and shelter. Tragically, 36 Palestinians have died from hunger, and 3,500 children are at risk of death due to malnutrition.
The Global Report on Food Crises has labeled Gaza as the location with the most severe humanitarian crisis in its history, highlighting the urgent need for international assistance. Since last October, Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of over 41,000 Palestinians, including thousands of children and women.
