Azerbaijan and Italy recently explored opportunities for collaboration in the realm of military education, according to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry. The discussion took place during the visit of NATO Defense College in Rome by the First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, as part of his official visit to Italy.

During the visit, Valiyev met with the Defense College Commandant, Lieutenant General Max Nielsen, along with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Italy, Rashad Aslanov. The parties engaged in extensive conversations about potential cooperation in military education.

The Colonel General also received a detailed overview of the college’s history, activities, educational processes, and facilities. Additionally, he interacted with Azerbaijani servicemen and civilians participating in NATO programs, inquiring about their educational experiences.
