Venezuela Issues Arrest Warrants Against Milei, His Sister, and Minister Bullrich
Venezuela’s Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an inquiry against Argentine President Javier Milei for alleged crimes against humanity and the theft of a Venezuelan state-owned airplane. Arrest warrants have been issued for Milei, his sister Karina Milei, and Security Minister Patricia Bullrich.
The move follows Argentina’s request to the ICC for the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Attorney General Tarek William Saab stated that Milei and his aides are wanted for crimes related to the seized aircraft.
Saab also appointed a specialized prosecutor for the protection of human rights to investigate the case. He referred to Milei as a fascist and a neo-Nazi, accusing him of being the most ferocious violator of human rights in the continent.
The Argentine Foreign Ministry condemned the arrest warrants, emphasizing the independence of the judiciary and criticizing Venezuela’s lack of separation of powers under Maduro’s regime.
