Former U.S. President and current Republican candidate Donald Trump is set to appear alongside Polish President Andrzej Duda and may also meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the coming week. The leaders are in New York City for the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations, where Trump expressed willingness to meet with Zelensky but provided no further details.
Plans are also underway for a joint appearance between Trump and Duda at a Polish-American Roman Catholic shrine near Philadelphia. This potential meeting comes at a crucial time as Pennsylvania, a battleground state with a significant Polish-American population, plays a key role in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
Duda, known for his nationalist stance, has shown strong support for Ukraine while building close ties with Trump and other Republicans. Their previous discussions in April included foreign policy issues such as Russia’s aggression towards Ukraine. Despite ongoing tensions, the meeting between Trump and Zelensky could provide an opportunity for crucial discussions on international affairs.
