Exciting News for Punjab Residents: Free Solar Panels Available Soon!
Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has announced the distribution date for free solar panels as part of the “Roshan Gharana” program. A meeting of the Planning and Development Board was held to approve the Chief Minister Fund for solar panel production and manufacturing under this initiative.
Residents of Punjab can expect to receive their solar panels starting in November, with plans to solarize 7500 tubewells in the first phase by June next year. Eligible customers consuming 50 to 500 units monthly will be prioritized, especially needy families in Phase I. The Punjab government will cover 90% of the costs, with consumers paying the remaining 10%.
Furthermore, the meeting reviewed various development projects, including construction and repair of roads, issuance of Kisan cards to over 35,000 farmers, and more. The capacity of the solar systems will be determined based on the user’s electricity needs.
